A very ironic and suspenseful short story I love it and I hope you do too.
I walked into the kitchen to check up and see how things were going, and the champagne was on its way.
Before I knew it we were being served, but Sherry wasn’t at the end of the table.
“Where’s Sherry?” I asked the guy next to me who I had no clue was even there.
“Is she a tall blonde, blue eyes IQ of a peanut?” he asks back.
“More like a mouse or dog, but go on.” I answered.
“In the kitchen”
So no matter how badly she denies it she really does care about this dinner and that was it she would be my choice and the sign would be the wine, it was Sherry.
I tapped my now-served glass of golden froth ,and raised it watching a drop spill out and dribble down the side of the goblet then fall down to the floor.
“To all of these lovely women whichever I may choose I hope that it will be a good night for all knowing that your beauty made it hard for me to choose. And before my choice is recognized I hope that all of you remember, those nights we shared together, and the winds that changed as you came and went. Now we are here together with our gifts and curses so I may choose of four to one and with that I would like to toast to all of you for coming here and for a chance at winning.” And to that we drank.
I felt the champagne clog in my throat, And all that I could see, through the ichor of the grapes, was the ladies’ faces grinning to their hearts’ content as I fell to the floor. The world turned toe blood of Sherry’s dress and the carnations began to turn. My head began to feel pressure I was a fish out of water. Sherry came around with a worried look on her face then she gave me a wicked, vindicated grin. Her lips parted to say but these words: “Love you too…” And her voice trailed. She was smarter than I thought. The grin turned to a vicious frown. I heard a slap and all went black.
