There is a very mild breeze from the west which may or may not indicate showers later on.  I take the dog out to pee.

It’s only 7AM and my armpits are already dripping.

I’m trying to wash dishes and the baby starts crying and crying and crying.

I dry my hands and go in to pry his head loose from between the bars.

Why couldn’t he have gone in and tied his tie after?

Diaper change, baby cereal, bath.  Now its 9AM.  We take the dog out to pee.

What in God’s name am I going to do until 8PM?

I feed and water the cat, Blooper, who won’t come near me.

Well, I can vacuum the pocked floors.  We can’t afford carpeting or air conditioning yet, so I vacuum and dust, vacuum and dust.  I look at the room.  It is stark; a sofa and chair, no tables, or walls.  Knacks, knacks, etc.  A sheet covers the front window and I really don’t care.

I walk the baby in his stroller but it’s too damn hot.  The dog goes along to pee again.

I’ll feed the baby at noon, give him a bottle and pray he naps a while.

I sit on the porch swing with a book I’m not reading and wonder if this is all there is?

The dog begs to pee again.  Maybe I need a job.

The baby wakes up at 2PM, dirty, hungry and cross.

After the clean up, we go out on the porch to catch what breeze there may be.  The dog goes pee.

The baby is in his play pen so I take the  time to survey the scraggly lawn

I’m trying to grow some kind of flowers but something keeps eating them.  Without a car, I can’t get to the feed store or anywhere else for that matter.

At 5PM I put on a pot roast, definitely not sirloin.

They say marriage is a sure fire cure for “self-abuse”.

Is work a panacea for boredom?

So here I am with a baby, a snooty cat and dog with a weak bladder.

Paints a hell of a picture Louise, and makes the reader shudder. Well written. Hope it isn’t based on everyday life for you, but I imagine a lot of moms must have this kind of existence. Thanks for sharing.
