Short story about a jiin.
Gins are pretty cool. But, they’re nothing like the way humans project them. Gins can be either mean or nice. They all can grant more than three wishes if they want to. They are only obligated to grant us three. Gins live inside many different things.
A prince had given me a gin and I didn’t even know it. I had done some work for him in one of the outer realms and the prince gave me a diamond prism. It was a gin’s home, but no one knew that.
That night some food went missing and I was told that one of the showers had been used. I didn’t think anything of it. The prism sat next to my throne where the sunlight was always shining on it. I guess that’s what woke it up.
I was sitting on my throne reading something from one of my favorite people. I heard a female voice say, “Is there anything I can help you with my lord?”
I didn’t even look up. “No thanks, I got it.”
“As you wish. If you need anything I’ll be here.”
“Okay, yeah, I’ll let you know if I do.”
I never even looked up throughout the whole conversation. About 20 minutes later I heard the same voice ask me if I wanted some food.
“No thanks, I’m good. But thanks for asking.”
“You’re welcome my lord.”
This time I was going through some files in the library, so I didn’t turn around to see her once more.
An hour past, I was sitting at my desk reading and rewriting a contract when I heard the voice once more asking me if I wanted or needed anything. I said, “No thanks.” But munch spoke up this time, “Hey M, I really think you should look up.”
“Munch, don’t bug me right now okay.”
