Jack is desperate to reunite with his daughter, so this is the only way he can speak to her.
Cover of Coming Home (Heartland #1)
Please come home!
Jack was desperate, it was a big cruel world out there, and his lovely daughter, only 17 years old, was somewhere, but how safe was she? They had always been close until she became a teenager, and then her character seemed to change. Last week there had been words between them, which he deeply regretted, and his heart had ached when he saw her with her holdall, walking out of his life.
He had no address, her mobile was switched off, he couldn’t call the police, as at 17 she was considered old enough to make up her own mind where she wanted to live. She had dropped out of her A levels, whatever would become of her? The world was full of men, and Amy was a vulnerable young woman.
Then he remembered Facebook, she had removed him from her friends, but he could still message her. This was his only hope.
My darling Amy,
Have I ever told you how much I love you? Not lately because I am always telling you off. I am sorry I laughed when you said you were independent. I can see you are growing up, and leaving the little girl behind that I used to love to protect. You should be laughing at me.
Amy you are so like your mother, and you know how much I love her. She is in bits now you are gone, and I am in the doghouse. I was too strict with you, I cared too much, and I wasn’t allowing you to be yourself. I am so sorry, please give me another chance.
I haven’t been very nice to your boyfriends, because in my eyes, none of them were good enough for you. But it’s up to you to choose your friends, not me, and if you come back I will change, I promise.
