The last day of auditioning.
The next day, I was called in to audition. I guess I impressed the men during the interview the night before. As I walked into a big room, I noticed there were twenty little girls. I noticed Californina Barnes was there, and the girl with the long golden-brown hair. I walked over to my new friend, Cali, “What are we supposed to do?”
Cali shrugged her shoulders. I was looking for Mark or Gabe to give us some answers. Finally, Gabe was strolling around in the room watching all of our behaviors and how well we got along with each other. I asked, “Gabe, what are we going to be doing?”
“We are going to do some fun things in a few minutes,” Gabe answered. Cali smiled, and Gabe continued, “Will that be fine, girls?”
After I nodded my head, Mark walked in the room and grabbed all of our attention, “Okay, I need all of you to be on your best behavior and do everything I say.”
We were doing strange exercises like jumping up and down and running in place. Then we had to laugh at nothing, and make several different facial expressions. Doing all those things was not hard for me, because I was very comfortable making silly faces in public.
The audition lasted two hours, and it felt like it went by real fast. All of us had fun. I was very nervous about getting a performing job, because a lot of the girls in that room did great jobs.
While my mom drove me back home, I did not say a thing. I also got myself set up to receive some news that I did not pass the audition. I really wanted the job, because it seemed like it would be fun. I, also, didn’t know if I would get to see my new friend, California, again.
