Everyday for the last two years I have eaten donuts and drank coffee before my morning shift. I am just the normal police officer looking for crime to stop to make my job easier.

But today was one of those days that the nearest Tim Horton’s was closed for cleaning. I had to drive all the way downtown to get my coffee. I have been grumpy all day but I was luckily able to take it out on people speeding and robbers. The next day I got my coffee like normal and then got called out to check out a murder in an old mansion. It was on the dreadful side of town were the old houses were. It was about to have another sip of my coffee when a looked at the clock on my police radio 3:59am— yawn!

I hadn’t got much sleep last night I was thinking to myself as I pulled up to the old mansion. The neighbor was waiting outside the door looking inpatient. The neighbor had reported hearing a strange shriek in the middle of the night. Inside a man named Charles greeted us, he was very kind and looked like he had everything under control. I had started thinking that everything was fine until he started shaking. Charles then invited us into the old man’s room.

Then all of the sudden Charles started jumping, for the first time in 2 long years I though I actually had to do some work. I almost had something better to than just eat doughnuts. Charles started going crazy-he started yelling, “ I killed the old man I did it”. Immediately I stepped out of the room and called for backup he tore up the floorboards and there I saw it the corpse of the old man. All of the sudden the backup I called for came and arrested Charles. I then retired and went to live in Hawaii beside the Tim Horton’s and next to a golf course.
