Short story of one man’s life which was ruined by making the wrong choice and how he regained his integrity, strength, respect and a good life through his faith in God and His Son Jesus Christ.

POPS And The Return To Church

When Pops made Parole. There was no one to help him get a job so he could get out. His wife did not know what to do and those who knew him, they were unable to help him. So Pops kept right on preaching in the prison. One of the churches in the area where Pops lived heard about Pops and contacted Pops. After the pastor heard Pops testimony he got in touch with the Seminary he had attended. They in turn requested papers to sign and be the responsible party for Pops so he could attend and further his education. It was indeed a miracle. Pops was released to the Seminary and while he was there he joined the church of the youg pastor who gave him guidance. Pops was soon attending Seminary and God gave him one of the best jobs he could have in the state. Many people were unemployed at that time but God blessed Pops to have one.

Pops In Retirement Years

When you get in your Seventies, age wise that is, You discover and see things in a more sensible light. I hate to burst someone’s bubble and ruin old time philosophy but old age is not a certain mindset. So you can’t say, it’s all in the mind. As I see it, it’s not a mindset at all. It is a busy mind in a set body that is in a set state with plenty of thoughts running through the mind daily. Something like that, maybe. Today is a great day but it’s been raining all month off and on. Being almost at the end of summer and in the early stages of autumn or fall we see a lot of the various actions of nature. Especially since this is the season for hurricanes, tropical storms, and tornadoes. Not just in our area, but all across the country and in many parts of the world.

Pops is not pastoring now but still preaches every chance he gets. Living a long life has it’s privileges and it’s perks and you know that you have come almost to the end of it. You try to prepare others for your “day” to leave here. Nobdy want to talk to you about it. Kids don’t understand. Your loved ones are too busy to listen. Only God listens and He understand. There is a feeling in your spirit that He understands and says, “Well done Pops. “

This story tells us that God has a profound purpose, plan and place for everyone who puts their trust in Him. He alone knows what we need, can do, and what our destiny is. This is a very good story and gives hope to the hopeless.
