Lucus had only been in Carol’s room for a very short while, when nurse’s came in. “You’ll need to wait in the family waiting room, Mr. James.” He was told. “Why can’t I stay with my wife?” Lucus asked. The nurse told him that Mrs. James’ vitial signs were stable and they needed to take her to surgery for an emergency Cesarean. While she was explaining this to him, they started rolling Carol’s bed out the door. Before Lucus even had a chace to say anything, the nurse’s were pushing the bed through double doors at the end of the hall.

Louise sit up when Lucus walked back in the waiting room. “How is Carol?” she whispered. “They have taken her to surgery.” he answered softly. Louise nodded and Robert took her hand in his, then said to his wife “She’ll be fine, honey, just you wait and see. Her and our grandbaby.” Lucus listened, then closed his eyes and prayed in his thought’s “Lord please take care of my family. I have so much to make up for and if you let Carol make it through this I promise to show my love for her.” He knew now that all those times that he watched her and his chest felt like it would swell, it was love for her growing. Why had it taken so long for him to realise that?
The doctor come to talk with Carol’s family. He smiled at how Lucus jumped when he walked in. “I’m Dr. Goodwin, I wanted to be the one to come talk with the family. Mr. James, you have a healthy baby boy.” Lucus had to know, “How is my wife, Dr. Goodwin? Is she okay?” Dr. Goodwin told him, “Mrs. James is in recovery and stable. Before the surgery, we run test to see why she was having so much trouble. We found nothing that would have caused it. I’m going back now to check on your wife and your son again. As soon as she comes around and is fully awake the nurse in charge will come and get you. I know you want to see her. You can go to the nursery and see your son, if you like.” With that the doctor turned and left the room.
“Okay Grandma, shall we go see our grandson?” Robert asked with a grin. “Oh yes, please lets go see him, Grandpa.” Louise replied. Robert reminded her that he had said that Carol and the baby would be okay. ” Yes you did,” was all she could say. The lord has blessed them and he had heard the prayers that had been said for Carol and the baby. Lucus was very thankful to know that Carol was okay. He couldn’t wait to see her, he wanted to see her face when he tells her how much he loves her. Right now he would go with his in laws to see his son. His and Carol’s son, when she wakes up, they need to pick a name for him and she better not come up with the name Jesse either. He had to chuckle about that.
