A short story about the olympic mascot.
Once upon a time, in a forest a long way away there was a Sasquatch. He was strong, tough and BIG. One day he wandered into a city called Vancouver, and people were wondering just a little bit about WHAT THAT BIG HAIRY THING WAS! People stared and followed him into an ice rink (they’re still wondering how he fit through the door.) and he watched the hockey game that was going on. Eventually a goalie got injured and they asked the hairy thing to play. He said yes and he blocked every time they shot on him. Eventually they figured out that he was a Sasquatch because he took up the entire space of the net. So they named him Quatchi because the end of Sasquatch is quatch and they added an i to the end. He became so famous that he replaced Luongo on the Canadian hockey team! They easily rushed through the hockey games getting scores like 57-0 vs. Sweden and in the gold medal game they won vs. USA 78-0! Quatchi became a sensation! Everybody kept saying: “With Luongo on their team, I bet they would’ve had to go into overtime to win the medal!” More and more teams wanted him on them so, he accepted! Somehow he survived a month of being on seven different teams, but one day, it had to stop. He had to play a game with him on both teams. He was tired from rushing back and forth to each of the nets and once when he was rushing he slipped. I know it sounds like a normal hockey thing, but this was a big fall. As he fell he accidentally tripped someone else. Unluckily, that person’s helmet was loose and it fell off while he fell head first onto the ice! He was taken into an emergency room at a hospital, but it was too late, he died. His parents threatened to sue Quatchi if he did not stop playing hockey.
