It all started in 2011 and ended in 2012. A year of destruction and catastrophe. The Mayans were right all along….
Chapter 1
Planet Gliese 581g – Year 2011
“Nooooooo!!!!!!!!”
“Damn! Another nightmare, it felt so real!” Beads of sweat covered his face as he awoke from a deep sleep.
Dr. Hermesious Seresious, an astro-physicist, moves to the window overlooking the Metro Gerve River at his sub-urban house. The city is awake and busy, he thought. Well, it’s almost starise, its past 3:00 am. In this lovely planet, starise is at 4:00 am. He’s been having nightmares for the past two weeks now and he just can’t figure out why and how? Dreams have been removed from that part of the brain of all Glieseians eons ago. For Glieseians, dreams are meaningless plots of scenes in one’s mind and they have figured out a way of replacing this gland in the brain with increasing their own strength. A normal Glieseian can carry 20x more than their own weight. They are an industrious and intelligent breed.
“Honey? Another nightmare?” asks Selenica, his wife, as she arose from the bed and moves closer to her husband.
“Yes.”, he replied with a slight grin as he kisses and embraced his wife.
“You know, you can’t tell anyone about this?” she told him with a worried look as she outlined the face of her husband. Is he getting old? It can’t be, she thought to herself.
Glieseians do not age anymore when they reach the age of 20. They have found a way to stop the ageing process because of a mineral that was discovered and thought of as the elixir of life. It has been incorporated into their DNA ever since. As a result, they’re supposed to live forever. Natural death is non-existent. No one will die, unless of course somebody killed them or they have been in an accident and the damage is irreversible. However, a natural death is slowly manifested by ageing.
“Of course, I won’t tell anyone. Nobody knows but you. Neither our children knew about it.”, as he moves away from his loving wife avoiding her pleading stare.
“I have to prepare for work.”
“But, it’s still too early?”
