This short story is about three children traveling in outer space and getting
into adventures one after another.
Jason, Diana, and Kevin breathed a sigh of relief as the ship took them through another
time zone. Diana looked out the port glass, watching the stars whizzing by. She turned to
look at Kevin. He sat straight in the pilot’s chair, his eyes glued to the viewscreen.
Jason was near by taking notes and logging their course. A stern look crossed his face
as he wrote. He glanced at the viewscreen every now and then. Sighing, he stood by Kevin’s
chair.
Kevin looked up. “Tired, Jason?”
“You can say that.” He and his brother exchanged knowing looks.
Diana turned in her seat. “Guys, I know we had a close call on Neeva II. That’s past
now. Let’s look forward.”
“Diana’s right,” Kevin said. “As usual.”
All of a sudden, a planet came into view. The large shape loomed ahead of them. They
were heading toward it. Diana tried to figure out the distance between them and the planet.
If she was right, it 5.1 feet and closing in.
As soon as the spaceship neared, it hovered above the ground and landed. They filed
