The first book of the new series after Percy Jackson and the Olympians hits stores on Fall 2010.

Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians is one of the best-selling Children’s Literature series in the world; many people called Percy Jackson as “the next Harry Potter”. The first book of the series, Lightning Thief was adapted into a movie, and was released last February. Sadly, the movie wasn’t loyal to its novel-counterpart. The actors were much older than what the characters were supposed to be, some essential scenes were either deleted or executed weakly, Grover is African-American when he was Caucasian in the novel, and Annabeth is brunette (when she’s supposed to be blond).

The five books in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series are:

The Sea of Monsters

The Titan’s Curse

The Battle of the Labyrinth

The Last Olympian

The series ended in the Last Olympian, after Percy, Grover, and Annabeth have defeated the evil Titan Lord, Kronos. However, it seems that the journey is far from over. The demigod-trio have rebuilt their beloved Camp Half-Blood (Riordan’s version of Rowling’s Hogwarts), where the next-generation of demigods must prepare for a chilling prophecy:

Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire the world must fall.
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.

The first book of the new series The Heroes of Olympians will be called “The Lost Hero”, and it will be released on October 12, 2010. I didn’t expect this novel to release this early, since Riordan has just finished the Percy Jackson series last year and he has just released The Red Pyramid, the first book of the Kane Chronicles series with a story based on Egyptian mythology.
