About a little boy. He and his dad compete in a snowman competition every year and every year they win. But this year his dad isn’t there and he doesn’t want to compete.
Roger had been waiting a whole year so he could make his famous snowman. Every year roger and his friends would have a competition to see who could make the best snowman. Roger was the champion three years in a row and if he won a fourth time he would win this amazing snow sled he has wanted for all his life. So every year roger and his dad would make this unbelievable snowman. It was so perfect that all the kids thought it was real. It was a fun time for everyone to make snowmen and it would be even better this year. But not for roger. Rogers dad loved him so much that he would protect him from everything and everyone that he decided to join the national guard. Three months ago he was called in to serve. He didn’t know when he would come home and he missed his family dearly.
Roger didn’t want to compete this year because his dad was gone. “Mom, said roger. When will dad come home?” he wondered would he come home before the competition. Rogers mom didn’t know whether he would be home or not. She only told him that his dad would want him to compete this year. Roger didn’t believe he could do it this time without his dad. His mom told him that it was no such thing as you can’t and he decided to compete anyway.
“Guess what today is mom?, said roger. It’s competition day.” “Are you ready big guy,” asked grandma. Roger was so excited that he couldn’t eat or talk, the only thing he could do was jump up and down. Grandma has to take you today honey because mommy has to stay at home and get dinner ready. So off to the competition they went. There were so many kids there with there dads ready to win. They introduced the contestants and they began the competition. Roger worked alone and was very sad, but he finished. The judges came around to look at the snowmen to decide which one would win. Finally they came up with a winner. Every snowman was good but there was only one first place winner. Roger didn’t win first place, but he did come in third. He was very upset and he just wanted to be alone. He really wanted to win that sled, but without the help of his dad he couldn’t. so roger and his grandma went home. He was so disappointed that he didn’t want anything to eat he just wanted his dad. He went upstairs and fell asleep in his parents bed. Tomorrow was Christmas and roger didn’t seem to care. His mom was worried about him and wanted to check on him. “Just let him be alone right now,” said grandma. So she went back into the kitchen to finish cooking. Then the phone started ringing. “Hello said,” grandma. The phone was for Rogers mom. When she answered the phone her face lit up brighter than the sun and she looked so happy. Grandma went upstairs to see was roger sleep while she talked on the phone. All of a sudden everyone was sleep.
“It’s time to get up and open your presents roger,” said his mom. Roger had this dream that his dad was there and when he woke up he asked his mom was he there and she said no. he was so disappointed and let down. Roger really wanted his dad to be there with his family for Christmas. He followed his mom downstairs to open his presents. He picked up the biggest box there was under the tree. “Who’s this from,” asked roger? I don’t know honey open it and see. Roger was very surprised it was what he always wanted for Christmas , a sled. Roger was so excited and anxious that he forgot all about his other presents and wanted to go outside to play on the sled. But first he had to get dressed. He didn’t know who brought it for him he really didn’t think nothing else of it he just wanted to ride his new sled. Then there was a knock at the door. Mom opened the door and someone with a suit on opened the door. It was Santa. “Santa,” screamed roger. Roger asked Santa did he get him the sled and Santa said yes. Since roger was a little boy he’d always want to see what Santa’s face looked like, but he didn’t know that Santa couldn’t take off his hair because it was real. Santa why can’t I see your face,” asked roger. Well roger it’s a secret, but just for you I will let you see my face. So he pulled off the hat and beard and everyone stopped. Dad! Roger was so happy to find out that his dad had come home and that he was Santa Claus. So everyone was happy and they sat down as a complete family to enjoy Christmas.
