Etihad Airways is one of the airways that has a flight from Manila to London via Abu Dhabi and its quite cheap if you compare it to other airlines who got same flight but different route. I purchased my ticket in a local shopping centre in Davao Philippines and pay for almost P65,000.00 for my flight to England (no insurance covered) and book my ticket from Davao-Manila on the same date. It was a whirlwind trip for me.

6 oclock in the evening, 7th of May, 2011 I departed Davao and its an hour delay for Airphil Express. It took an hour and 45 mins to reach manila and catch a taxi from terminal 3 to terminal 1. When I arrive Terminal 1, I went straight to the check-in counter which is closed at that time and fall for a queue. Met some passengers of the same flight and had a little chat. Finally, the counter opened and started to entertain passengers and give boarding passes. I got 2 boarding passes, first is from MNL-ABU DHABI and second pass is from ABU-DHABI to Heathrow Terminal 4. I went straight to the airport terminal fee counter to show my itenerary reciept and that I already apid the P750 tax and collect my departure card to fill it out.  Next was the immigration booth, I was so nervous facing the lady but I try not to show how nervous I was so my answers on her queries will not be that suspicios but she just let me go and asked why I am not a OFW and what Im going to do in London, I replied Im just going for a 3 week holiday in London, view my passport and documents, stamped it and thats just it. Another queue approaching for the last check of your stuffs and youself.

I passed all of that and I was really happy so I quickly look for a food stall and had my food there. I never knew that there is an immigration officers before we reach the gate. They did stop me and asked me for few questions about how long will I stay in the UK and ask for some proofs that I was invited to come to the UK by my boyfriends family and luckily I got all the papers they need so they let me fill up a form again and they let me go to my gate! Atlast I was sitting there waiting for my airplane to be ready. We departed hour and a half late from the estemated time of departure from Manila-Abu Dhabi.
