Do you like sweets? Sweet-toothed Sally sure doesn’t anymore.

Sally liked sweets; she loved sweets; she simply adored sweets! On the way to school she would go to the corner shop and by some strawberry laces. Then, at lunch she would buy a few sherbet lollies and after school had finished she would buy a big bar of Cadbury’s chocolate. This was the routine for the week days but on Saturday she would gobble up sugary snacks like there was no tomorrow! Candy necklaces, gobstoppers, marshmallows, fudge, Turkish Delights and of course lots of chocolate coins!

Are you wondering what about Sunday?

Sunday was the only day of the week when she didn’t eat any candy or sweets or chocolate. In fact she didn’t eat any junk food at all. Sunday was a healthy day – she went swimming and then horse riding, she cleaned the car for mum or dad and then for lunch which was lots of vegetables and a half boiled egg. Sally would look after her baby brother, Johnny, and she would make sure he had a afternoon nap. On Sunday, she was an angel – Monday, she was back to her normal self, munching up candy and crunching up sweets. But then…

On Tuesday, Sally had a bad toothache! “Ooooooooh,” she would groan. “Ooooow,” she would moan and “Aaaaaaah,”

On Wednesday, her mother said tomorrow they were to visit the dentist…

On Thursday, Sally went to the dentist with her mum and the old man said that she would need fillings. They really hurt. That taught her a lesson. The dentist said that he would she her again next week.

During the week, Sally carried on chewing her chewits; munching her marshmallows and crunching her candy sticks. When she returned to the dentist, he said that she would need some of her teeth taken out with a special drill. She was terrified.

Since then, Sally has not eaten more than two sweeties a week!
