Two (or three) is better than one!

Sammy Skeleton strongly disliked people who only cared about muscles and not bones. After all, muscles don’t do a bit of good without bones to support them. But when he found Muscle Max, he had to revise his feelings.

Sammy was walking in a mall, shopping, when he saw a huge muscular giant walking towards him. Sammy knew instantly that this was one of the types of people he hated. People who valued muscles more than bones. This person had huge biceps and triceps. He walked right up and said, “You need some muscle on those skinny bones of yours. Check out my muscles. I work out everyday and it shows. My abdominals are as strong as King Kong’s.”

Sammy was insulted, and said, “Well, if you didn’t have bones, those fine muscles of yours won’t matter a bit. If you didn’t have a femur, humerus, or ribs, you wouldn’t be getting anywhere.”

The other person laughed. “Did I ever tell you my name? I’m Muscle Max. My latissimus dorsi is probably stronger than your entire body!”

Sammy shrugged. “You don’t need to be strong to live. If you didn’t have bones, you wouldn’t even be able to stay upright. Maybe you should think about the job your vertebrae or patella do.”

“Well, if you don’t have any muscles, your bones won’t get anywhere! They can’t move themselves. You couldn’t walk without your quadriceps or raise your arm without your deltoids,” retorted Max.

Finally, Sammy saw the sense that Max had and realized that the body cannot move without both the muscles and the bones. Of course, he didn’t know there was another system involved…

That was before he met Nervous Nick.
