A story about being accepted.
Sandy’s Acceptance
It was just another day at blueberry middle school. It was Friday morning and the bus had just arrived at the school but that didn’t matter because Sandy was already there it the library reading. She hated the bus rides because that’s where everybody else was and most of the kids considered her a nerd or a geek, it happened almost everyday and she didn’t like it. Today was different, she wasn’t thinking about what she was reading, she was thinking about being accepted. It was the one thing that she wanted most in her life. All her good grades and blank late sheet didn’t matter any more, she was willing to throw it all away just to be accepted. Sandy hade a plan growing in her mind. She was going to dress like the cool kids and talk like the cool kids she was even going to show up late for class just like the cool kids did every day.
That weekend sandy went through closet but couldn’t find anything to wear on Monday so she went to the mall and took her best friend Veronica with her. Once they were at the mall sandy told Veronica about her plan.
“See Veronica I will dress, talk and act like the cool kids, I’ll even show up late for class.” Explained Sandy.
“I don’t like it sandy, you’ll turn into one of them and I wont have any friends at all. Right now you’re my only friend. Tomorrow if you decide to change your mind I will be in the library.” Said Veronica almost in tears and running away. Sandy found some cloths paid for them and left the mall thinking about her best friend.
It was 7:00 am when Sandy woke up. She had o put on her new cloths before her mother got up because Sandy knew that her mother wouldn’t approve of them. So Sandy got on her new cloths and put some old cloths over top of them. Sandy ate breakfast and left for school. The last thing she thought of was now I’m not going to be called nerd or geek she was tired of not fitting in
Monday morning. Dressed in black, belly button exposed and wearing a sneer. She approached the cool kids. Her body tensed up. Her steps faltered.
“Hey man,” she said uncertainly “what’s up?” They turned and smiled. Acceptance! She’s in. then she realized how ridiculous she felt. Taking another look Sandy knew that she wasn’t one of them. She turned and made her way to the library.
