Their awesome super short adventure in an awesome super short story.
Scarlett was walking down the rocky, dirt road when something glossy caught her eye. She picked up a clear rock that had an engraving of “Lancelot.”
“The knight?” she wondered.
Scarlett skipped down the road with the rock bouncing in her pocket. Then, a young boy of about 15 years ran into her.
“Hey!” shouted Scarlett. “Why did you run into me! You could have–”
Her shout was blocked by the older boy’s hand.
“Shut up!” he whispered. “Or they will hear you. You know, the law enforcement.” He said these words like they were poisonous.
Once the boy released his hand, Scarlett immediately hollered, ” Help! I’m being held hostage by a juvenile delinquent!”
Her hollers were again muffled by the boy’s hand. She threw his hand from her face and ran off.
“Lance is the name, life’s my game!” he screamed after her.
Lance. The name flashed in her head. Short for Lancelot. Scarlett instantly stopped, swung around, and sped toward Lance. When she approached him, she tackled.
“Whoa! Uhhhh, what was that for?” inquired a confused Lance.
“Have you lost any clear stones with Lance engraved on them?” asked Scarlett suspiciously.
“My gramps Lance XVII lost it yesterday. The old senior loses his brains sometimes,” sighed Lance.
“Well,” Scarlett began.”It’s not everyday you find a Lancelot stone laying on the road.” She pulled out the stone and handed it to him.
“Yeah thanks. Now gramps will be happy something in his life isn’t lost,” Lance said.
Scarlett helped Lance up and they walked down the dirt road together.
“One last thing,” said Scarlett. “what was that thing about the law enforcement?”
Lance answered, “That my friend, is another story.”
