Chapter 1
Walking around the campground I didn’t for a second get that nervous feeling you get when you’re in a new place. Looking up at the stars all I could see was the beauty of the night. I look towards the ground, where our tent should be, and see all my friends smiling and playing jokes on each other as the tent is being put together. For once, I feel content with where I am.
I start to help my friends put the tent up, the rain comes pouring down telling us to hurry up. We start scurrying along, working at a faster pace. As the final touches are being worked on, everyone not working on the tent runs to the vehicles and start grabbing supplies and sleeping gear. When everything is grabbed, the tent is finished. Everything is thrown inside and we all dive in ready to get warm.
We all started snacking and laughing when the light finally gave out in the tent. Since we can’t seem to see each other anyways, we all start changing into our pajamas. Everyone gets changed and we all try to get settled in. Everyone has their phone lights shining once it comes time to organize our sleeping spaces. Everyone gets situated, 2 people to an air mattress, and everyone has their own sleeping bag. Once everyone lies down and gets all warm and cuddly we talk for a while until some people start to doze off. The night starts to take over.
Christina and I (Meladee) were lying beside each other; she curled into me and started telling me about her family wealth and history. She informed me that her great grandmother use to be one of the wealthiest women in the country within the last decade. Her family had a lot of different companies and businesses that took over the greater Los Angeles area and surrounding cities. She would never have to worry about any financial situations that came her way.
Finally Christina became quiet; her heart rate that was pumping up against my arm informed me that she was sleeping. I rolled over, closed my eyes and attempted to go to sleep too. The cold wind kept tickling my skin, making it harder to sleep. Time slowly passed and the rain finally came to an end. I woke up, sat up and started thinking about what to do the next day when a man found his way in our tent. When he got to his knees and had full balance he pulled out a gun and pointed it at me. No words came out. He pointed his gun to an area instructing me to move there, so I did. He pulled the trigger and the bullet came rushing towards my head. When it slammed up against my forehead my breathing began to increase, I blew out a gust of breath and realized I wasn’t actually awake just yet, it was all just a dream. Instantly waking up I make a panicking noise that surprisingly doesn’t wake a anyone.
