A paper on the secret life of bees and the main characters struggle.

Michael Jackson is just like Lily because life changed in a big way for both of them.  Lily had a big change in her life that changed her forever.  Lily was an angry little girl that didn’t know much about the real world, then Lily’s real world experiences and “family members” caused a change in her, in the end Lily earned the respect of others because of her new found understanding that the world is not all bad.

Lily was an angry little girl that didn’t know much about the real world.  One thing that made Lily extremely angry was her father.  He made her angry because he didn’t listen to her or believe what she was telling him was the truth.  Also some of his punishments were very harsh like the Martha Whites~~.  Her mother also made her angry at one point.  That was after she was told by T. Ray (her father) that her mother ran away and left both of them.  T. Ray thought very little of Lilly.  He didn’t really care about her he only cared about what she did for him.  T. Ray told Lilly two stories about her mother.  One was that she had shot her mother when she was a little girl.  The other was that her mother left home without Lily or T. Ray and was never going to come back.  When she believed the story about her shooting her mom she started feeling a lot of guilt which only added to the stress she had.

Lily’s real world experiences and “family members” caused a change in her.  Her dad affected some of the changes she made.  Since T. Ray was so mean and negative to Lily she didn’t want to be like him.  At the time Lily believed that her mother ran away from home without her so she wanted to be caring instead of inconsiderate and extremely secretive.  Her father seemed like he wanted Lily to grow up in some aspects.  Lily’s friends also wanted her to change in some ways.  Like always telling the truth and being dependable.  Rosaleen wanted Lily to be more true to herself and not act like someone she is not.  Reality really struck Lilly when she left T. Ray.
