“Self Publishing”

If you are a Writer and are having thoughts about Self Publishing, you are about to make the biggest mistake any Writer can ever make.

You have written a story or book, and now you are sending letters out to Publishers and Publishing Houses and the letters you get back are anything but good, no one seems to want your newly written book.

Newspapers, and the Internet are full of advertisements about Self Publishing, but what they don’t tell you is that not only do you have to pay a Graphic Artist to do the front cover of your book. You also have to pay to have it printed. You have to do all your own marketing, that means approaching book stores, and asking them if they will put a few of your books on their shelves, and most reputable Book Stores won’t be bothered with you, as they get their books from Publishing Houses, besides you are an unknown Writer.

Another decision you would have to make is the selling price. If you price it too high it won’t sell, and if you under price it, readers will think it’s a piece of junk. Thousands of would be Writers get suckered into Self Publishing only to loose every cent that they invest in their own books.

Something to remember, if you had sent a part of your book out to several Publishers and no one wanted it, how in the world do you expect to sell it? These people are Professionals they know what sells, and what doesn’t sell. Do yourself a big favor and when you see anything concerning Self Publishing, turn the page, as it’s just another get rich scheme for small print shops to make money, your money.
