A School excursion to the zoo.

I recall as a fourteen year old on an excursion to the zoo with school, we would see animals in their cages and some out free running to see. I loved the monkeys
I remember I had a salty biscuit in my closed hand a monkey I was playing with opened my fingers and took the biscuit and ate it.This happened on three occasions at the cage, the next time I pretended and when he saw there was nothing there he slapped my hand and made a playful sound he was pleased enough as I bid him good bye. The next animal was another ape an orangutan.
I saw this ape sweeping the cage with a palm branch of a tree she looked at me with such sad eyes and I felt like she was communicating with me. As if to say what am I doing here as I pondered back at her knowing how intelligent they are. It was at this point my friends called me to come with me.

Oh that is soo sad! Poor monkeys. Or gorrillas or whatever orange-tangs are. If you held out your hand and had no cookie biscuit i would have done more than just slap your hand.
