“She Said Yes”

            This shocking story of Cassie’s faith has inspired me to be the best Christian I possibly can be.  The fact that Cassie was the average teenager like me has made this story more touching.  When Cassie’s life took a turn for the worst with drugs, alcohol, and the terrifying plot to kill her parents, Cassie was forced to turn to the Christian faith.  Our faith changed Cassie’s life, getting her back on the right road to success.  However, when the awful shooting at her school encountered Cassie was in the wrong place at the wrong time.  She was faced with one question as the gunman approached her and asked if she believed in God.  With her life at stake and all the troubles she faced in her life, she decided to choose to remain faithful instead of saying she didn’t believe, which could have saved her life.  This act of courage fits the “What would Jesus do” phrase since Jesus too died for our faith.  She made me believe that faith is a major part of the meaning of life.  It shows that in life it is important to believe.  It is important to believe in our faith instead of living a reckless life, such as Cassie’s life before she found Christianity.  As I begin to prepare for Confirmation I will keep in mind the story of Cassie’s life and remember the same WWJD phrase that Cassie was fond of.  This will help me to be the best Christian that I can be.
