A fan sequel to the short story “She waits Seething, Blooming”…

Tara had raised her hand, seconds away from smacking the boy across the face when all of a sudden, he faded. One by one the walls, the sofa, the spilt gin all faded away until it was all dark. Then she heard Dr. Johnston call her name out from somewhere in the darkness. Then there was a flash of lights as she was disconnected from room 16. Blinking several times Tara got herself use to her surroundings again. As she patiently waited for the doctor to completely disconnect her, a nearby nurse stood by with a small red pill in her hand. The nurses name tag read Sammy. Noticing Tara’s awareness Sammy stepped forward and handed her the pill. “You’ve been wired for over 15 hours, you probably need to take your third dose of TS-31.” TS-31 stands for Trisulphate 31 a mineral used to counteract the pollution in the air. Ever since the year 2020, scientists realized that the air pollution situation was not getting any better. To try and counteract the current air poisons, they came up with the solution of spraying Tymonous to eliminate the pollution. The product worked, but it never disappeared from the air, and water. The People and animals alike began to die from breathing in the air. They realized that there was no way in removing all of the poisons in the world fast enough, so they came up with the solution of TS-31. Unfortunately the drug wore off and needed to be taken 3 times a day. Unfortunately there was a side affect to the drug. It suppressed human emotions. The clinic that Tara was leaving was one of the many Virtual Emotion places in the world. Here you could connect yourself to a virtual world for several hours and experience emotions. Paying her bill Tara stepped through the door and headed home. It was late now almost 11PM, glancing behind her she crossed the street. By the time she got home it was nearly 11:30. Once she got home she quickly got changed and went to sleep. She dreamed nothing that night.
