A sheepherder in Montana and a Peace Corps Volunteer in Namibia try to maintain an affair through the written word.

17 April, 2003

Dear Anne,

I’ve been thinking about you today.  I am so in love with you.  Physical labour leaves my mind unfettered.  Most of my thoughts turn to you.  My words and my speech seem inadequate.  I have to delve into a spiritual realm to evoke my feelings for you, their overwhleming and mysterious nature.  Mysterious in the sense that part of this is beyond my control; that my will in conjuction with some kind of destiny have shaped this passion in my heart.  To hold you again…Kisses upon caresses might reveal the wealth of love inside of me, revealing the trully ebulliant nature of my heart.  It flows for you alone.  It pulses with your smile as its purpose.  Be with me tonight as I lay down to rest my weary body.  I will be with you the night you read this, holding you tightly, kissing you upon your cheek softly.

Sleep well my love.

John
