Yalena Pierre’s used to weird things…her stepdad’s one of them.
“My Stepdad’s A Werewolf”
By: Sylviah Elric
On the scale of one to ten, my level of normalcy was about two. I had a mother, father, and a brother so I guess that was normal. As to why that level of normalcy was so low, I guess I would have to explain who and what they were. My mother was a mythical-hunter. Basically, she got paid to hunt whatever was supposed to be a myth, like Kanye West’s ability to shut his mouth.
Anyway, my mom recently got a divorce from my dad because he was actually a shape shifter. She went through with the divorce for reason that she didn’t want to re-experience what happened to her last. What had happened was that she went out with one that she was actually set on marrying until she figured out that the guy was a girl impersonating a guy. Suspicious that that was the case with my dad (which was impossible since he was a participant in my conception), she divorced him so scratch that having a father crap.
My brother, Benjamin, was mischievous with his shape shifting ability. Benji would use his shifting gift to turn into a girl, change his name to Jemima, and spy on girls. When he wasn’t doing that, he was getting their names and numbers then would sell them to those who wanted them for a profit. I asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up. He said a politician because he was good at lying and cheating resourcefully. He’s so stupid.
My stepdad’s the recent addition to our family. He worked at my school as my British Literature teacher and called me out at any chance he got. He would go from “Did you do your homework?” to “Did you clean your room?” in point two seconds. He does that on purpose, but it only gets worse when he hits his time of the month. But before you get the idea that he has an actual cycle, let me further explain.
You see, my stepdad’s a werewolf so the only cycle he has to adhere to is the lunar cycle. Every full moon, he just goes into full female dog mode. He gives the class extra homework, he throws Expo markers at anyone who answers a question wrong, and takes people to their darkest state of mind with just his sharp mouth. He’s just a bipolar pregnant woman, strange cravings and turbulent mood swings. I-along with my two friends, Remi and Lyra-was responsible for subduing him when the full moon arrives, according to my mother. She made me follow in her footsteps, but I didn’t mind. As long as I was getting paid, I wouldn’t mind endangering myself to a werewolf’s hormonal rages.
