Olden times’ stories can sound ridiculous. This is true, he belonged to the family.
Sir X happened to possess some acres of land as they did in the feudal times.
He was stately and his temper matched his looks. He also had a baritone and acted on stage. Persons crossing his threshold were answerable. If they were not to his liking, they had to go the other way.
Now as it went, some members of the house probably, happened to express their heart’s desire to watch all the household treasures how they looked from a distance. So the subjects were summoned to bring as many wicker baskets they could to fill them up with all the jewellery from the iron chest.
Then these baskets were arranged for display under a tree.Everybody gathered to applaud the flash and glitter in the sun.
When ordered to put them away, the subjects grabbed hand fulls of them attempted and finally managed to run away, dropping some while escaping. This, one can imagine how much panic it created then.
One of those subjects, the last one in the queue was unfortunate and could not make it like the others. Sir X managed to shoot him right then.
So my Great Granddad became nearly a Great Nobody after that.
