A true love that began in sixth grade and lived on for 49 years only to vanish. too late.

it was love at first sight. he had blue eyes and white hair.  he was my world. i gushed when he walked by. my heart ached to tell him how i felt. i was shy. one day in the school playground he ran after me with a squirt gun. i stayed near the teacher. i wasn’t afraid of him. i just didn’t want to get wet. i laughed at him. he got mad. he wrote this in my autograph book on graduation day. roses are red, violets are blue, you have a nose like a B52. i looked at him in shock. he shrugged his shoulders and smiled. he was cute. i lost contact with him. i didn’t know where to find him. he wasn’t listed in the phone book. my heart skipped a beat when i heard someone speak of him. he is married. i am not. he has children. he goes by my house every day. to have searched all these years and to have lost.
