It is amazing what some gentlemen go through so as to get their Sweetheart! Caleb in this story, after trying all he knew how, was still single into his thirties, with two younger siblings waiting to wed after him.

Eventually, following a "sorry, wrong number" response to a call, he decided to call that number back, befriended the lady, and eventually married her.

This is a VERY rare occurrence. However, amazingly, you do find such occurrences, that led to VERY happy marriages.

Read on.

Caleb, Thirty-Three in 1989, was the first-born among three male siblings. Working in a multinational organization situated in Nairobi, Kenya, as an Assistant Finance Director. He was doing quite well by Kenyan standards.

Timothy, thirty-one, and Paul, thirty, were both Accountants, Timothy at a bank in Mombasa, the coastal city of Kenya, while Paul was a Finance Officer at one of the government agencies at Eldoret, one of the fastest growing towns in Kenya.

Out of respect, both Timothy and Paul had postponed their own weddings for over two years, for the sake of their eldest brother. Caleb had made all efforts at getting hooked up with a lady, but had been unsuccessful so far.

In September 1990, Caleb, thirty-four, erroneously got a phone-call from a lady, who was asking to speak with one Nancy. His response was appropriately, “sorry, wrong number”.

No sooner had he hung up, than a thought came to him. Had he not tried all means in his efforts of getting a Sweetheart? Had he not solicited the help of relatives and friends? Had he not approached enough ladies? What might hinder him from trying to get attached to this stray caller?

He called the stray lady caller and asked her a few questions, in a bid to try to get some lee-way.

Her name was Susan, thirty years old, and a life insurance agent. Caleb invited her to his office for a presentation. This presentation paved way for a series of other presentations over a period of one month.

Following the one month series of presentations, Caleb strategically took an education policy for Calvin, a cousin who had recently lost both parents.

On the day Susan delivered the policy documents, in the first week of November 1990, Caleb asked Susan out for lunch. This was just the first of a series of lunch dates.

Caleb and Susan wedded in mid-April 1991. It had all started with a “sorry, wrong number” phone response!
