A short mystery/ adventure story.
Spooky Valley
One spooky night in the not so distant future, as I sat in the back-seat of my dad’s car, we ventured into the town of Spooky Valley. As soon as we got there we ran out of gas. When we had pushed the car to the gas station we heard a bone-chilling howl. Despite the strange noises, we thought it would be cool to live here. After we had found a house, we moved to Spooky Valley.
After two days of living in Spooky Valley, it was Halloween. That night I used a pillow case as my candy bag. We went out at 7:59 PM happily collecting candy until we came to an old spooky house. The house looked run down and haunted. Then we herd a blood-curdling scream and ran inside to find a young girl screaming at a werewolf to, “Go away!” In two seconds she was gone and the pillow case I was holding had come to life. Then it started shooting mints everywhere and one of those mints went into my mouth and down my throat, where it got stuck. My dad picked me up, carried me outside, and used the Heimlich maneuver to dislodge the mint.
My dad started fighting the werewolf as soon as it emerged from the house, while I hid next to the mailbox, behind a bush. When I looked up, my dad was gone and the werewolf and the living candy bag were taking candy from every house. After they left, I visited all of the houses in town and found them empty. So I decided I would get rid of the werewolf and the evil candy bag myself.
I found them both in the forest on top of one of the hills that surround Spooky Valley. The werewolf was dumping all of the candy into the candy bag’s giant maw. Picking up my scent, the werewolf stopped dumping candy and started tracking me down. I had to do some quick thinking, so I hung my coat in a tree. Then I ran to another tree and hung one of my socks there. Then I filled my shoe with candy and hung it in a third tree before climbing up a fourth tree to hide.
The werewolf came and ate the entire shoe in the third tree before returning to the candy bag. I came down from my tree and climbed up the first tree, where I could keep an eye on both the werewolf and the animated candy bag. Smelling like fresh candy, the werewolf was eaten by the candy bag.
