Jade was in her room getting ready for school when she heard the doorbell ring.She took one last look in the mirror before heading down.Jade was a small girl,about five-five,weighed about 105,had shoulder length ash blonde hair,a beautiful set of violet eyes,and a few freckles.She was wearing a red tank top that barely covered her stomach,a jean skirt,and a pair of matching sandals.She grabbed her black messenger bag and hurried downstairs.She opened the door and saw her friend Kara in her little green buggy waving her over.
“Hang on a second Kara,I just need to leave my mom a note.”Jade called.Kara nodded and turned off the car.Jade went into the kitchen and wrote a note telling her mother she wouldn’t be home for dinner,because she was going to help Kara plan out spring break.She put the note on the fridge and headed back outside.
“Hey,do you have any spring break idea’s?”Kara asked.
“I was thinking Florida.”Jade replied,putting her sunglasses on.
“Don’t you think Florida is a little over done?”Kara asked,taking her eyes off the road for a moment.
“Yeah,but,it would still be fun,and warm.”
“Let’s see what the others say first.”Kara said,pulling into the school parking lot.Jade and Kara got out of the car and since they were early sat on one of the steps in the sun.Jade jumped when she felt a hand around her waist.Her boyfriend,Justin,laughed.
“Jumpy today?”He teased.Jade blushed and laughed.Their other friends Lea,Ryan,and Mark came up to the and sat down.Mark sat next to Kara and put his arm around her shoulders bringing her a bit closer.She giggled and kissed his cheek.
“So did you two decide what we”re doing for Spring Break?”Mark asked,his arms around Lea’s waist.
“Jade was thinking Florida.Her uncle owns this beach house and he said since he’s not using it that we can use it.”Kara said.
“That sounds like a cool idea.”Mark said.The others nodded.The bell rang so they gathered their stuff,and agreed to meet back on the steps and head to Kara’s house.
Jade was putting her books into her locker since she knew she wouldn’t need them for the rest of the week.She was heading to her next class when the schools biggest jerk walked up to her.
“Hey cutie,where are your rich little friends.”He asked.Jade made a face and pushed past him.
Jade and her friends were rich,but they didn’t flaunt it like most people did.The other people at school knew they were rich,but respected them,because they didn’t flaunt it.They acted like regular kids and treated everyone the same.
“Jade wait up.”Lea said.Jade turned around and waited for her friend to catch up.When Lea did catch up she was all out of breath.
“Man you can walk fast.”She said.Jade laughed.Leah was like her sister.They both had ash blonde hair and green eyes,only Lea didn’t have freckles,and she was a few inches taller than Jade was.
“No I don’t,you just walk slow.”Jade said,starting to walk again.
“Maybe that’s it.”Lea laughed.
“Did you have any idea’s for Spring Break?”
“No.I like the Florida beach house idea though.Sounds like it would be a lot of fun.It’s a private beach too,isn’t it?”
“Yeah.Well,it’s shared with three other houses,but there’s not a lot of people who live there.”Jade said,waving as she spotted the rest of the group.Lea and Jade walked over to the group and sat down on the steps.
“Okay,so have we decided or what?”Jade asked.
“Yes.We’ve decided that your plan is totally awesome and we’re going to Florida.”Justin said.Jade smiled.
“Alright then.We’ll leave tomorrow?”She asked.The others nodded their heads.
“Let’s head home and pack.You two staying the night?”Kara asked Jade and Lea.
“I’m not.My mom wants me home for dinner tonight since she won’t see me for a week.”Jade said.Kara nodded understandingly.
“Me too.My mom said she would miss me and wanted to spend some time with me before I left.”Lea said.
“Sadly our moms are the same way.”Mark said.The boys nodded.
“Who am I picking up first tomorrow?”Jade asked.
“Well,we’re not all going to fit in your car,and you’re the only one who knows how to get to the beach house so,why don’t we meet at Justin’s house?Us girls will ride with you,and the boys will ride together.”Lea said.
“Good idea.I’ll pick you and Kara up,and then we’ll all meet at Justin’s.”Jade said.The rest nodded in agreement.
“This is gonna be the best Spring Break ever!”Kara said,getting into her car,with Jade getting in the other door.The girls kissed their boyfriends before heading home.
Later that night Jade had all her stuff packed and ready by the door.She had set her alarm clock for six and had left out the beauty products she would need in the morning.At the moment she was sitting next to her mother watching Friday the Thirteenth.
“Sweetie,I want you all to be careful.Remember,no drinking,smoking,or having sex.”Her mother reminded her,and then smiled.
“I know mom.Trust me,none of that’s gonna happen.And we’ll be careful.I mean,it’s not like some killer is gonna come for us.”Jade laughed.Her mother looked at her before laughing herself.
‘Tomorrow is gonna be awesome.’ Jade though.
