To believe on oneself.

Jason Parks is as ordinary as any fifth teen year old. He is a model student, prides himself with his participation in sports and has a small group of friends however; his life will change forever and so will yours after reading his story.

Bang echoed the gun in Jason’s ear. He starts pumping his body into motion. The small crowd screams as he raced past them. He sees Dave Pillar slightly in front of him. He pushes his body more, breathing in stronger. The breeze makes his eyes water and blurs his vision but he pushes on. He comes around the third bend. He can hear his parents yelling, “Come on, Jason.” He starts getting short of breath, but he can see Dave just ahead. They both sprint for the finish line. Dave excitingly jumps up and down, narrowly winning the race. Jason is standing hunched over on the side of the track. His hands are on his knees, as he trying to catch his breath. Dave walks over to Jason, pats him on the back, “Good race.” Jason just acknowledges Dave with half a wave. Jason’s dad pulls a jacket out of his school bag and proudly puts it on Jason. “Well done son. Karl

Shuts the car door but Jason’s school bag is wedged in the door. Karl shakes his head, re-opens the door, and replaces the fallen items from the bag. He sees Jason’s report card he sneaks a peek. “Ah um,” clears his mum throat. Karl smirks at his mum knowing he was caught. He shoves it back in Jason’s bag, sits beside Cathleen and reads a book to her. Jason breathlessly slides the van door open and hops to his seat, “Hope I didn’t make you wait to long;” as his dad starts the cars engine. “Your mother and I have decided to give everyone a treat; we are gong to Pizza Hut.” “Alright,” both Jason and Karl cheer at the same time. The Park’s van leaves the school’s car park and takes the back route to the restaurant.
