The crocodile could not catch him, because everybody knows that crocodile cannot climb trees’.

Little Felix’s teacher asked him to write a fable. The boy sat at his desk, thinking. He knew that he had to write a good story and he applied his mind grimly to the task. He wrote-

`Once upon a time a turtle was sitting on a long in the middle of a river. Suddenly he saw a crocodile stick his head out of the water right beside him. The turtle slid off the log and paddled to the shore. The crocodile was behind him his mouth wide open. The turtle came to the bank and ran as fast as he could. The crocodile followed him and was gradually coming nearby to him. Just then the turtle came to a tree. He looked behind, seeing the crocodile so near he climbed up the tree. The crocodile could not catch him, because everybody knows that crocodile cannot climb trees’.

The teacher read the fable and said, `Felix, you have done an excellent work, but it is not true to nature. It is true that a crocodile cannot climb a tree, but neither can a turtle.’ Hearing this, the boy replied, `but this one could because it had to’.

There is enough of Felix’s fabulous turtle in every one of us. We can do everything when we have to do. `I must,’ said Nelson at Trafalgar. `I must’, said Washington at valley Forge. `I must,’ said Gandhi Surat. Strong willpower should be exercised by everyone who wants to be great, when faced with duty, crises or opportunity.

A person can achieve his objective in life only when he strives very hard, takes all decisions consciously and completes all his work faithfully.
