I will never lose memory of this lesson from the past.

It was another dreadful day of summer. The summer heat pounding on my back was just another reminder on how much i actually disliked summer. As i was about to go back inside for a shower my dad called me to the living room. What is it now? I thought as i slowly walked to the living room. The most hated words that could come from his mouth came out at that instant. “Go mow the lawn? Would you son?” Every instinct in my body told me to lash back at him but I didn’t, he didn’t ask for much from me anyway. As i walked toward out glass door I looked outside and thought about much I was going to really hate this. I slipped my shoes back on, grabbed my iPod and headed out the door. As i was choosing my playlist on my iPod i checked the oil on our lawn mower. Just fine. Now the gas was a bit different, it ran out. Oh happy days! Now I had to carry the heavy gas canister to the lawn mower and fill it up. As i was pouring I estimated how long this would exactly take me. I was really just wasting time so I didn’t have to mow the lawn. As I was looking around our second small garage i looked up and there was a strange orange and white striped cord hanging from the ceiling. It was connected to a metal pole like structure and looked like it supported the garage door. At around 3:00 PM I took it by my hand, and pulled it.

I quickly tried to get my grip and realize what the heck I just did. It was too late the garage door hit he ground and shut me with a huge slamming noise. I tried to grab the cord, pulling the garage door back up but it was useless. I thought it was too heavy then, upon closer inspection, I realized that the top of the door was jammed in between the floor and the ceiling of the garage. Then i thought, I am truly stuck!

Oh woe is me i thought. There was no door leading to the larger section of the garage. There was only a small window in the back giving off enough light to be able to see in the garage. I looked at my watch and it read 3:18pm. My mother didn’t come home for another 42 mins. My dad is rather old so I know he didn’t hear it. So i sat there sitting in the riding lawn mower we had waiting for my watch to strike nine. As i was sitting there I thought about getting a way out. There was a a lot of boards and old mattresses lying about. If I could stack them up I could get out the window. I looked at the window. I honestly didn’t think I could get out. I’m pretty big myself and I don’t see how I could ever get out. I opened the window and it was too small. I looked at my watch, 3:45.
