Each county meed and should learn to respect and take care of those who have live and given their all to make the town a home, and now my mama faces the same situation.
Taking care those we Love
Taking care of mama, with some difficulties that she is having, have been very hard on me, but I could not tell her; what she does not know wont hurt her.
She happens to live in Suffolk County, where the taxes are way too high and many of their senior citizens are forced to leave or lose their home to the county. Which makes us stop an wonder, why are so many of us moving away from our home towns.

You know what it is? Taxes, we all have taxes, but real estate taxes are unresonable, personal tax no better; taxes when you go shop is the 8 percent plus for the state, and 4 percent plus for the county. Do the math, that is 13 plus percent.

So senior citizend are forced out of their homes because something major happens all to quickly, such as a the death of my love one, or a loss of a job.
I recall a woman trying very hard to keep her house of over fifty years, until her husband passed away she thought all was well until she began to realize just how much her husband had do to make ends met, the county town and village taxes were too much for her. In a very short time the county sold the house took their taxes from sale which seems somewhat reasonable, but they kept the profit. This woman had not relocated and the new owners were ready to move in even before she was able to find a home get out.
This is really frightening to me and I can only hope in time, that those living in Suffolk can live their lives out whiling enjoying what they have built, for their family; and friends.
The End, Montauk point.
