A dinosaur hunter near Newgate discovers a T-Rex skeleton that has bullets in it.

Usually when people think about dinosaur hunting they think about the bone fields out West.  Also, China is becoming a hotbed of dinosaur discoveries.  One place people don’t think about is the Adirondacks.  But one dinosaur hunter had a hunch about the region and decided to hunt for them there.  What he found totally shocked him.

Dr. Raymond Field and his team of diggers were excavating an area about five miles north of Newgate in August of 1998 when they came upon some bones.  They were amazingly well-preserved and even had the smell of flesh on them.  It was as if the beast had been buried no more than 140 years ago and not 140 million as the doctor believed.

The young man who discovered the bones rushed over to where the doctor was digging and was very excited.

“Dr. Field, I found some bones you’ve got to look at.”

“What are they from?”

“They look like they are from a Tyrannosaurus Rex.  I discovered the bones and claws from one of its hands and arms.  It appears to be the left one.  But I noticed something strange.  It smells as if the animal hasn’t been dead more than a couple hundred years at the most.”

“That’s impossible.   You have to be mistaken.”

“Well come over and see for yourself.”

The man walked over to the site where other team members were digging, brushing, and chipping away to uncover more of the skeleton of the T-Rex.  For the next three days, the doctor and his team uncovered a rare complete skeleton of the feared dinosaur.  But something else that would explain its death was discovered.  The creature had been killed by steel bullets that had penetrated its skull.  But that was impossible.  It would have been like discovering a sports car in an Egyptian tomb.

Dr. Field knew that many strange things happened in the area that couldn’t be explained.  Maybe someone in Newgate could explain why a dinosaur that was supposed to have been dead for millions of years could have been killed by steel bullets.  Maybe somehow they knew how to travel back in time.

The scientist drove to the university and went to the science building to see if there was a scientific reason for the find.  When he stepped into the building he went to the information desk to ask the synthetic some questions.  She looked like a student and smiled pleasantly as the man approached her.
