The statue gallery in the Harvenstall Art Museum has moving statues.

The bronze man carried the three dead bodies in his powerful arms out of the museum and handed them to the police who transported them to the hospital morgue.  The blood was dried by then so there was not that much of a mess except on the floors of the functional art and wearable art galleries.  Ground hugging cleaning robots left the janitor’s closet and cleaned up the blood so that when visitors arrived, they didn’t know anything had happened except when they saw the severed cable connected to the saucer and the damaged birds.  There were also some steel balls embedded in the walls and ceiling of the functional art gallery fired from the multi-mode pistol which was placed back in the Mars lander capsule.

When visitors were allowed into the galleries at 9:00 AM, the cable that attached the saucer to the ceiling was being replaced by another cable that was hooked to a ring on the ceiling by a small saucer that used field displacement to fly.  Robotic arms and hands placed the cable hook in the ring as a couple kids were watching.

One of the synthetic guards that hadn’t been activated the night before approached the two boys.

“Mister, what happened?” asked one of the boys.

“I wasn’t out here at the time.  The two synthetics and the human guard that are normally on duty were shifted to another dimension.  If you want to know what happened, you’ll have to enter the statue gallery and ask the bronze man or check the security cameras that are transdimensional.  The burglars thought they were not seen.  But the cameras scanned the dimensions until they discovered the intruders and locked onto them.  so there was no way they were going to get away with their crime.  Three of them died trying.”

“Really?” asked the other boy.  “Was there much blood?”

“The steel demon wolves shredded two of the burglars and a bird slit open an artery in the neck of a third burglar.  The man died right were you’re standing.”

The two boys backed away from the spot and said, “Cool.”

The claws of the demon wolves were never cleaned as a warning to anyone else who tried to rob the art gallery.  They smelled for awhile which brought some complaints.  But when the story of the attempted burglary was known by the public, a little odor could be tolerated.  The damaged birds that fought with the first three burglars were never repaired.

The number of museum goers that stayed in the statue gallery for awhile doubled and visitors spent more time talking with some of the exhibits.  The great HarvenstallArt Museum burglary became botha movie and EPU program that people could buy in the gift shop and experience at home.  From that day on, people looked with awe at the statues in the gallery while people with thoughts of burglary looked at the claws of the demon wolves and shuttered.  Thank God the blood wasn’t theirs.
