Kansohor is an ancient city founded by an alien race over 5000 years ago and occupied by nine other races over the millenniums with humans being the last to become the dominant race.  But there are still descendants of the original founders in this city of over 2 million.  It is the most advanced of the cities with three broadcasting centers that have a total of 15 TV stations and 24 radio stations that cater to specific groups.  But the centers are competitive.  With aliens from planets throughout the galaxy visiting the city or doing business, Kansohor appeals to interdimensional and alien viewers with many working for ACE. 

In the beginning, Hamilton only had 95,000 people.  Broadling had 112,000.  Strervan had 205,000.  Kansohor had 400,000.  Hamilton began the series as the decent city where people went to be educated in the day and entertained at night.  Broadling was the corrupt city where criminals ran the city until a law-and-order mayor took back the streets.  But his police officers still allowed criminals to get their way for a price.  Strervan was the commercial business center where people made and lost fortunes.  Kansohor was the exotic location where the sky was pink and some of the citizens were light blue. 

Mondays were for stories about Hamilton.  Tuesdays were for Broadling stories.  Wednesdays were reserved for Strervan stories.  Thursdays were when Kansohor was visited by the viewers.  On Fridays, all four cities would sometimes be featured if the story lines converged.  Viewers didn’t need to watch “Quad City” everyday if they were only interested in one of the cities.  But the story lines were so interesting that most viewers watched everyday. 

On a Monday, the public library in Hamilton might have a fund raiser with the mayor extorting contributions from criminals he did business with to make them look more respectable.  On Tuesday there might be a story about an affair between a teacher and a student in the university that is in the Nordham Stratotower.  On Wednesday, a person might be escaping a bad relationship by traveling out into space from the spaceport on the outskirts of Strervan.  On Thursday, a human investigator may be looking for criminals in one of the districts of Kansohor and falls in love with a beautiful woman from another world.  On Friday, one of the businesses the mayor does business with in Hamilton might also do business with the police in Broadling.  A salesman may have a wife in Broadline, a girlfriend in Strervan, and illegal dealings in Kansohor

Repeats of the program are shown on a special cable station called By Request which usually offers stage productions and movies.  It is shown a day after first being broadcast on the standard channel.  So if people miss the first broadcast they can watch it the next day on By Request. 

As they used to say in the program “The Naked City,” there are 6 million stories in the Naked City.  There are 5 million stories in “Quad City.”  And not all of them are told by humans.
