The is about my mom who collasped at home one October morning.

That October Morning

What is it as a child we run up to our parents and hug them and give them kisses to find that one day that could turn into something of the past, or almost the past. No one knows what holds for tomorrow and if we did would we even want to know. Would the pain just tear up apart piece by piece as if to say “stop that, stop worrying your loved one will be alright.” October seems like a fun filled month for many children who enjoy Halloween and all the festive activities during that wonderful time. Adults and children enjoy Halloween and that entire month so they can plan and get ready for the big event with holidays right around the corner. Its to be the start of the holidays right? Well that was so wrong this October for my family. So wrong!

One early morning this October 2009 my mom sit between me and another person who was dear to my heart and who my mom enjoyed the company of. My mom made a phone call to my dad who lives in the same state but there contact is threw phone. Well my mom got off the phone and then walked in the kitchen and sat between the two of us at the table. I was surprised cause normally she sits right there at the end. But this morning she insisted on sitting right there by me in the middle. I was surprised I said ok mom. We was talking about what to eat for the morning. My mom said she was not very hungry and started to drink her coffee. As I watched her face she clenched her head and made out an ohhhhhhh sound with a burst of air. Then followed by a clinching of her chest. Right then I asked my boyfriend to dial 911. Within a minute she stopped breathing and she had no vitals. I asked my boyfriend to lay my mom on the floor where I started CPR. And she was going in and out. I knew that was not enough but I did what I could do till the medics got there. It hurt me to see my mom that way. It seemed like the medics took forever to get there but it took them less then four minutes to arrive once the call was placed from the time the incident happened. Once they arrived got right to her they shocked her two times and then CPR all the way to the hospital where they shocked her again multiple times to revive her. Finally they got her stable.
