Continuation and finale of my short-story/novella.
Both Ray and the alien arrived to the underwater city. A big celebration awaited them; and Paul’s spirit was hosting this celebration…Paul and Ray spoke for a good while. It was now the eve of the 25th day, but the aliens had something different in mind. Paul’s spirit looked like a hybrid of just every Earthly form of life. The invasion of Earth had been called off. The aliens found a universe far away, and had decided to forsake Earth for this newly found universe. This universe housed a planet 10-times the size of Jupiter; this planet was completely submerged underwater, just like their planet had been. At first, Ray was going to be sent back ashore, but he decided to go with them. Preparations were underway. After this big celebration took place, the aliens started walking towards a corridor; the corridor was 4 feet wide/5 feet tall, too small for Ray to fit, so he had to bend over for over 1 mile…this was where the spaceship was awaiting them. The alien (or rather hybrid) women were very attractive, and Ray was talking to a few of them already. The trip would take 10 years at light-speed; the trip was 100-trillion miles away….
Meanwhile, Earth went back to normal, even if almost 3 billion people had perished. Countries, cities, and communities got back to normal within a span of 5 years. The oceans resided back to normal, and Earth was spared. Many of the death tolls were as expected; people that had lived too close to shore….
After 10 years of travel, the aliens arrived at their chosen destination. By then, Ray had married one of the hybrids, and they had 6 children together. The planet was very large; they landed in an area that was dry land; the only dry land area in this planet. This place reminded Ray and Paul of Lake Hemet, CA. The spaceship that they used to travel on, was the size of West Los Angeles, CA. At first things were difficult for the aliens, but as time went by; the aliens manage to put up underwater cities and establish communities there….
