The best times of my life! The 70’s!!

My teen years transpired in the 1970’s. I would love to share some of the times that I lived through during those fantasticly beautiful times! In 1970 we moved from Granada Hills, California to the midwest. It was 1975 when the journey of my teen years really began! I was surrounded by wonderful Italian families and to this day, I am asked, ‘are you Italian’? Every time that I am asked this my eyes glisten over, because those were the best days of my life!! It was me, Ronnie, Anthony, pronounced (Antnee), Sammy, Lenny (my boyfriend) and several more of us. We rode around on hot summer nights in the coolest brand new cars with convertable rag tops! Electra 225, LeMans, TransAm, uh, they were beautiful! We had innocent fun, almost, yeah we drank a little strawberry boones farm wine and back then it was legal for an 18 year old to drink 3.2 beer! We would go to the beach and play volleyball in our bikinis and trunks, we would go to the park and play touch football! My boyfriend was a jealous type of guy and when one of the guys would get out of line with me, there would be a fight and the next day, they were best friends again! Lenny was good to me and protective toward me and to this day, is a friend of mine. The music! Hah! Forget about it!!! Blasting in our LeMans, you would hear Aerosmith Toys in the attic, Joe Walsh Rocky Mountain Way, Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven, etc. As we passed by other kids in their cars I would blow them kisses and Lenny would laugh and wink at me, we were so tanned, a real tan from being outside all day and laughing and horsing around. He would take me home on time everynight. My curfew would be a little bit later if Lenny and I went to the drive in movies and when I got home both of my Parents were watching All in the Family with Archie and Edith. They would turn the television down to ask me about the movie, they were just really checking on me and I knew it even back then and I love them even more for it! There were no cell phones but we all talked daily and knew everything there was to know about, oh, Ronnie and Linda relationship, and Sammy is bowling in another tournament or who beat who at a pool game the night before! Those were the best days of my life!

I was a VERY small child growing up in the 1970’s. I was born June 25, 1970 and the times that I DO remember I had a lot of fun. I remember going shopping with my mother and granny and that was SO nice especially around Christmas time. My mother would be cleaning around the house and would have the radio on and I remember Rhinestone Cowby was on the radio. My mother’s favorite song was Disco Lady by Johnnie Taylor. I had a few friends and we would play on the elevator in our apartment building which was once a hotel sevral years prior. OMG, I had a LOT of fun and would do jsut about ANYTHING to bring those times back.
