A mystery story written by me for a homework assignment.

The Account Caper

Locked-Room

It all started on night when Jimmy logged on to his favorite online game, V-World.  He noticed that an error came up telling that the password was wrong, but this was not unusual because he often changed his password.  Although, he did not remember changing his password lately, so he decided to have it emailed to him.  When he tried to enter his email address, it would not send because it said this too was a wrong address.  Now Jimmy was the kind of kid who focused on games and could care less if he got bad grades or had no friends, as long as he did well in V-World.  Because of this, he did not have many real friends, but George was one of the few.  George was not like Jimmy in the fact that he actually did well in school and had other friends, but he liked Jimmy very much.

Later that day, Jimmy questioned George on the phone, “Were you able to log onto V-World earlier today?  Because I wasn’t.”

George replied, “I did not try, I was busy with homework.  But I can try right now if you want me to,” thinking a bit first.

“That would be great,” Jimmy exclaimed.

As George logged on, Jimmy too attempted the futile task of logging on.

George’s voice sounded over the phone, “I was able to log on.  Maybe you just forgot your password again.  You have been known to forget it.”

Jimmy sadly said, “No, I even tried typing in my email and that did not work.  I think that somebody has stolen my account.”

“Maybe we can find the guy who did this and report him.  And maybe I’ll even get my account back,” Jimmy cried.
