Jacob Wood and his sister Amelia find their mother has been taken to a magical world, and uncover a family secret.

Gray sunlight filtered through the bedroom windows, waking Jacob to a gloomy day. Rolling out of bed, Jacob went to wash his face and got changed. He rubbed his eyes once more, and went downstairs to find only his sister on the couch watching the Saturday Morning cartoons. Usually their mom was watching the cartoons with them, but today she had not been heard of yet. Passing that his mom was still asleep, Jacob walked into the kitchen to find a note, which stated that his mother was jogging and had officialy started her work out plan.

Soon Jacob realized only he was there to make a breakfast suitable enough to eat, and walked back into the living room. “Amelia, what do you want to eat? And please dont say pancakes, ’cause last time I burned myself.” said Jacob.

Taking a careful thought his sister replied, “I think you should try pancakes again, they were good, and I honestly could care less about your personal feelings.”

Jacob huffed and walked back into the kitchen. Though Jacob knew Amelia was being sarcastic, he still felt a bit hurt; his sister was never usually that harsh with him. Remembering to ’set his personal feelings’ aside, Jacob began taking out the ingredients: 2 eggs, flour, butter, milk, sugar, and maple syrup. Next, he grabbed a bowl and a skillet from the cuboards where the note lay. Jacob noticed that his mom had also written the time she left, 6:45, and as Jacob looked at the clock he read 10:23. No way has him mom been jogging for nearly four hours…where could she be?
