Located in the village Beraban or 13 miles west of Tabanan, Pura Tanah Lot is almost always offered by every tour guide in Bali to visit. A cool place to shoot this sunset (while sitting and drinking coconut) is unique among other temple sites located on the hill boulder seafront. at low tide and no more than knee-height, we could still have to cross to the place.

According to a source of the legend of travelogue priest from East Java named Dang Hyang Nirartha that were heading east to spread the teachings of Hinduism. Until one day, Dang Hyang Nirartha arrived at a beach with a small island amid the sea with parangan soil and rock hard underneath. that’s where the preacher to rest and soon came the fishermen brought her god. then in place Dang Hyang Nirartha convey the teachings of his religion and advise the public about weeks to build a shrine on the island where he stays. After the death of the priest, the community built the shrine on the island by the name of Luhur Pura Tanah Lot means land in the middle of the sea.
To the north temple, precisely in the cave under the cliffs, there is a sacred snake. flat black poisonous snake is believed to be a yellow shawl Dang Hyang Nirartha apart when he was imprisoned and until now the temple guards. in this place also there are sources of freshwater named Tirta Pabersihan (commonly used as a means to invoke the sanctity).
