This is an excerpt from the novel fiction story I am working hard to create and finalize. At this point in the book our main character here, Missil, does not yet know of the hardships to come. To give a little background/story – this is a fiction writing. The book picks up from there into a wonderous new world, If you enjoy this small excerpt.. please e-mail me or comment me on this site somehow wungta@gmail.com
(This writing takes place in the beginning chapters of the book, you will know about who the character is at this point and soon after find what he ultimately seeks)
P.S. I know the tense is messy, This segment is still to be finalized any help or comments would be appreciated.
The Beginning of an epic quest
A boy name Missil bikes down the boardwalk at night with his friends at the back of his group. Taking in the uppity springing scenery, all the arcade games were on and being played by teenagers and young children with parents. Different types of people all buzzing about and walking around with their food and boardwalk prizes. The lights of all the rides, always changing and continuously moving about. Missil finds himself slowing down to enjoy all the scenery. Soon he loses sight of his friends and hopping off of his bike, wanders up to a store front. As if in a trance he walks in on an argument between two people over a book that was published. An older man who Missil presumes to be the manager or owner is yelling at his younger associate for publishing his personal excursion against the manager’s wishes. The boy Missil looking over onto the table, still unnoticed by the two arguing men, see’s the cover of the book. His jaw dropped slightly as he read the title “8 ways to seduce a woman,” and on the cover page was a nude drawing of a female body.
Without thinking about it twice, Missil grabs the book and slides it into his knapsack. Turning on his feet he ran out the store front, leaving his bike behind in a hurry, and dashed down the boardwalk by foot. As the men barge out of the store front, yelling and searching up and down the wooden planks of the boardwalk floor the men come after him, Missil looks back. Throwing the bike and looking up, both men saw the boy who stole their novel running wildly down the boardwalk. With his head now facing in front of him, the young boy Missil quickly looks for somewhere to hide.
Hastily ducking into the nearest shop on his stretch of board walk, Missil finds himself in an antique mystic’s and fortune telling shop. Shiny things floated and hung down from the ceiling twisting and turning with the slightest breeze. Old lamps and stylish looking clothing hang from mid air. Missil made his way to the back of the store, eyes wide in terror as he carefully shifted his footsteps back and forth. He passed by wood carvings and pedestals with candle sticks hurriedly searching a place to fit into. Peaking his head around the corner and then back to the store front, Missil follows the corridor into the back of the shop, trying to keep his throbbing heart calm lest the men hear it beating against his throat.
