A tale of treachery.
Prologue
In a parallel dimension, several thousand years in the sfuture, a giant stairwell slowly descended into the central stronghold of the star. “Creak, creak” the hinges sounded as they had not been lubricated in many years. Slowly a small humanoid figure crawled painfully up the stairs, gasping as he finally escaped prison. How he had loathed the prison. The flickering light that barely fluttered through the zirconium-cement almost tortured his conscience as much as the crackle of the extremely hot, com busting hydrogen. Oh, how he would enjoy ruling the universe that had caused him so much pain. The beginning of the end had started.
A pang shot through Evron’s chest. It wasn’t a pang of pain, but one of sorrow. He would miss his life, but he knew this was a good cause. He would be proud to die for the sake of his nation, but he doubted that his objective would be killed. “C’mon you dirty worm! Get over her!” his commander ordered. “Sorry Sir, I was just thinking’ how lousy my life is,” the startled soldier recovered. “Nobody cares how sorry you life is!” screamed the commander, “The way this war is going, you won’t have a life in a few hours”. How right he was Avrom thought. “Well I guess I’ll just take a nap to forget my worries.” He quietly slipped to his tent and fell into a deep sleep.
Avrom awoke to a scowling officer. “Get up Avrom, the emperor awaits.” Avrom had been a spy since the great Scattering when all civilization had collapsed. He had been found by the great creature that humanity had enslaved and had been released in the scattering. He would craft humanity into a glowing ball of perfection. Avrom had then slipped among the ranks of the enemy, and had gained their complete and total trust.
Walking into the palace, Avrom knew exactly where the emperor was. Slipping into the throne room, Avrom walked calmly up to the emperor. Looking straight into the eyes of the emperor, Avrom clicked the button in his pocket. The bomb implanted in his chest exploded. Everyone in the room was instantly vaporized. Away from his worries, Avrom ended the war, and peacefully slipped into the quiet ravine of death.
