I was told that this was the best story ever told, and after hearing it, I believe her.
So my friend’s friend was hired by her neighbors to watch their dog while they were away on vacation in Florida and she happily agreed to do so. She had the simple job of walking the dog twice a day, feeding him twice a day, and putting him into his designated room so he couldn’t dirty anything important in the house. Three days went by and everything was going great….well, until she walked in on the fourth morning and the dog was dead. “Oh my God”.
She, being the respectable individual she was, decided not to panic and called her neighbor’s up and claimed full responsibility for what happened even though she followed directions explicitly. Fortunately for her, her neighbors understood the dog was old and on its way out so they politely asked her to take the dog to the vet so they could properly take care of the body. “Phew”. She dodged a big bullet, but now she had to figure out how to carry this hundred pound dog to the car without dragging it and attracting attention to herself. She thought quickly and found a suitcase with wheels, put the dog in, zipped it up, and started wheeling it to the front door. She took her time lowering the suitcase down each stair of the front porch and started wheeling it to her car.

She popped the trunk and tried to lift the suitcase up into the car but could not do so. A man walking by, being the gentleman he was, offered to help her. She didn’t want anyone to know what she was doing, but she really needed help getting the dog into the car. Besides, it would be even sketchier if she said no and continued to fail at lifting the suitcase. The man lifted the suitcase into the trunk and turned to the girl. “What do you have in there?”. Crap. She thought as fast as she could. Being a college student, she said, ” Oh, you know, some clothes, all of my text books, my laptop….” and then it happened. The next thing she knew, she was lying on the curb with a swollen face, a popped trunk, and no suitcase. So this guy thinks he’s stealing a bunch of valuable items so he knocks her out and steals the suitcase when in reality he’s actually just stealing a dead dog. The girl never told her neighbors about this and told them the dog was taken care of by the vet, receiving full compensation for taking care of the dog all week. But still, I can only imagine the look on the guy’s face when he realized his precious stolen merchandise was actually just a dead dog. WTF?
