A condensed/short story about a black figure that haunts, stalks, and lurks the streets of a some what, or so called quiet town.
A quiet, nothing town had nothing to boast about. It was maybe the most boring of towns ever. Or at least for a town of its type anyway. A town full of chain restaurants, grocery stores, and not much else. You would think it was a farm town full of fields, but not so. It really was a town stuck out of place in between cities that offered a millions times much more to their residents.
People said they saw a black figure lucking around the streets. But other just laughed. They would say the figure looks like a man stuck in a poncho, but he just seemed to be a very black shadow like figure. I never believed them until I saw him,of it for myself. He seemed not to know where to go or what he was doing, but all he would do is stand there when people saw him.
But one day a house fire happened, but nobody knew how it happened. It was said that the black figure used to live there. He died in the fire it is said. He walks around searching for his family. He wonders where they have gone, and why they left him behind.
Some say he pointed at them pointing in the direction of the house. He never walked,or moved at all. He just stood there looking into the air,but nobody couldn’t figure out what in the sky he was looking for,or at. It was said that students wouldn’t stand, and wait for the bus after he turned up,because they where so scared of the shadow that burnt to death.
The house that burnt is no more,it is just now a patch of grass. But nobody has ever seen the figure there. Maybe he is trying to figure out how to get there by pointing at people in hope they would direct him there?
I was never scared by the figure,he didn’t seem to want to hurt anyone, but we all know how scared people get when they see thing like that. I thought he was scary for the sheer fact that his presence was present. Who know if he will ever find peace? Who knows if he will ever figure out where his family are,or what will ever happen to his soul? The black figure still lurks in the streets near his home in hope to figure out what happened.
