The Black Parade

Cody was 19 years old, and was a musician. How he loved music. His father always cheered him on, as did his mother. But at the age of 16, something devastating happened. He and his mother were driving across the countryside, talking and laughing, when she turned to him and smiled, and said “I love you son, you’re the best thing that ever happened to me, I’m so grateful I have you.” “I love you too mom.” He replied. She turned back to the wheel and screamed and hit the brakes but it was no good. They went crashing off the side of a cliff, it was a short cliff but there were severe consequences. Cody lost his mother that day, as well as his left leg. He spent the next two years mourning, and the last year starting the guitar again.

Cody started talking to his old friends again, and then became best friends with them once more. They formed a band, and made quite a few songs, but they weren’t very popular. One day, when they were walking in town, they saw a poster.

“D’you think we should join it? It’d get us more fans.” The group stood there and looked down, ashamed of his request.

“C’mon you guys, we got to do this, and it’s a shot we should take, please?” The group muttered to each-other and came up with the answer.

“Fine, but you have to write the song we sing.”

“Deal.”

 The next day, Cody was stuck in his room writing a song, when his father came in. “Hey dad”

“Hello son, what’re you doing? You’ve been stuck in here for a few days and I wanted to see whether you were okay or not.”

“Yeah, I’m okay dad. I’m writing the lyrics for the band’s new song, want to hear the bit I got so far?”

“Sure son.” Cody picked up his guitar and strummed the notes, and started singing.
