The day I met Shelly, she told me a story, of the bond she has with Alli. And it was a real inspiring story for. I hope it inspires at least one of you, the way it has inspired me.

Shelly is a good friend of mine. Shelly has Epilepsy. Which is a disorder in which, it causes your body to have seizures, and she is also a Diabetic, which is a blood sugar disease. She has had both of these for many years.

Shelly is married, but her husband works a lot, and her only child has to go to school. She is alone a lot if the time, because with her husband working a lot of the time, when he is at home he has to rest.Shelly felt lonely a lot of the time. She needed a friend. She has had many friends in the past, but when they would see her have an Epileptic seizure, They wouldn’t know how to take it, so they would make up excuses, why they couldn’t come over or do anything with her. Having Epilepsy my-self. I know how lonely it can be. And at times it can be embarrassing at times.

Shelly was going through a rough time in her life. She was in and out of the hospital all the time. So she began looking for the perfect companion. One day while Shelly and her family were out shopping. They decided to stop at this pet store. When she walk in, they had a box of puppies. Shelly went over to look at them, Shelly bent over to look, one of them jumped right into her arms. The owner of the store told her they are free, please take one. So she decided that’s the one she wants. Shelly took the puppy home and named her Alli.

Oh how they played and played. Then one day as shelly sat on the couch, Alli jumped up and got right on her chest and would not move Shelly then proceeded to have a seizure. When Alli thought Shelly was safe she got down.

The last seizure Shelly had, she woke up laying in the hallway . When Shelly finely opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was, Alli standing over her licking her to wake her up.

To this day if Shelly’s sugar level is to low or to high Alli lets her know. And makes sure she is safe. To me that is the strongest bond I have ever seen. Alli has never been trained on any of this. I believe Alli was put here just for Shelly. A lot of people don’t believe in miracles, but after hearing all of this. I sure do. So if your ever out, and something jumps out in front of you . Stop and think about this story. Just for a moment. It might have a reason behind it. So remember. The bond it could happen to you.
